Water bubbles in my head

#Mindcandy are scenario prompts to help companies become situationally aware and formulate appropriate responses to trends. Find out more here.

Scenario prompt 14 August 2025

Water, not silicon, has to be the basis of true AI AI needs to be water-based in order to become truly intelligent. Bubbles in my head.

The other prompts for today are indoor solar, AI judges, an artificial tongue, electric fabric, sound as data storage, autonomous insect robots, smart babies and you are the upgrade

If you want more details and the other prompts, you can subscribe to my substack.

AI needs to be water-based in order to become truly intelligent

https://www.ronimmink.com/water-has-to-be-the-basis-of-true-ai/

Years ago I read “The hidden messages in water”. How words determine the molecular structure. The article and the book dovetail completely with my book about books about AI. The conclusion is the augmented natural intelligence is the only way forward. This article links quantum, natural intelligence and AI. We are 70% water. It created bubbles in my mind (excuse the pun). You are the upgrade.

Record-breaking perovskite indoor solar cells harvest six times more energy

https://interestingengineering.com/energy/indoor-perovskite-solar-six-times-energy

These engineered perovskite cells deliver world-record efficiency and last years, potentially eliminating billions of battery replacements.

Meet the early-adopter judges using AI

World’s first artificial tongue ‘tastes and learns’ like a real human organ

https://www.livescience.com/technology/worlds-first-artificial-tongue-tastes-and-learns-like-a-real-human-organ

Scientists have created the first artificial tongue that can taste, and process flavors entirely in a liquid environment.

New ‘Electric’ Fabric Could Power Wearable Health Sensors

https://www.azosensors.com/news.aspx

Scientists have developed a new fabric-like material that can generate electricity from movement. Made from specially spun polymer nanofibers, the material achieves high crystallinity and strong electroactive properties without the need for complex post-processing, offering a low-cost route to next-generation smart textiles.

Using Sound to Remember Quantum Information

https://www.caltech.edu/about/news/using-sound-to-remember-quantum-information

Scientists has used a hybrid approach for quantum memories, effectively translating electrical information into sound so that quantum states from superconducting qubits can survive in storage for a period up to 30 times longer than in other techniques.

Going places: Muscle-inspired mechanism powers tiny autonomous insect robots

https://techxplore.com/news/2025-08-muscle-mechanism-powers-tiny-autonomous.html

Taking their cue from mollusk catch muscles, researchers have developed a low-voltage, muscle-like actuator that can help insect-scale soft robots to crawl, swim and jump autonomously in real-world settings.

Inside Silicon Valley’s Growing Obsession With Having Smarter Babies

https://www.wsj.com/us-news/silicon-valley-high-iq-children-764234f8

Tech execs are paying tens of thousands to find brilliant dates or select high-IQ embryos. ‘They want to raise high-performing children.’
