“Making work work, Why you should prioritise your staff, 25 books covering engagement, structure, metrics, purpose, trends and strategy“.
t started with a conversation with John Ryan, the founder and CEO of Healthy Place to Work and a particular book he mentioned, namely “Dying for a paycheck”. A horrific book about how work is negatively impacting most people’s lives. It should not be that way. Decided to make a journey through the books I have read about work.
The conclusion is crystal clear. Look after your people and your AQ, resilience, clock speed, NPS, profitability, and innovation capability all improve dramatically. Looking after your staff really well makes a lot of sense. In my opinion, it is the next evolution after digital transformation. The question you need to ask is how healthy are you making your employees (including yourself). Making your staff sick should not be an option.
I wrote another book about books titled “Building the in-house change muscle”. Read “Making work work” first. It is all about people, compassion and humanity.
