#…………in8days

My friend Frank Hannigan has just launched a CEO circle in Ireland, sparking an idea. Considering my #bookin8days involves 4×2-day mini-retreats, I am curious if my clients, readers, and contacts would be interested in a unique business retreat.

ChatGPT versus Claude

It is not #8businesstreats (link to the mindcandy), #businessin8days, #futureproofin8days, #businessrefereherin8days, #strategyin8days, #problemsolvingin8days, #disruptionin8days, #innovationin8days, #8daybusinessstretch, but a combination of these. I asked ChatGPT, and it came up with #8DayBusinessBoost. Claude suggests #8DaysofBusinessReinvention. I am open to all suggestions for a better name. The price for best entry is a business book.

Imagine

Imagine joining a select group of eight individuals, meeting four times a year for two transformative days each (totalling eight days) under the sunny skies of Spain’s Costa del Sol. It’s more than just business development and stretching your thinking —it’s about enjoying the sun, indulging in excellent cuisine, savouring fine wine, refreshing swims, and relaxing beach walks.

4 Premium Experiences

This will be more than four mini-retreats; they will be a set of extraordinary learning experiences costing €8,000, exclusive of flights. Apart from the flights, everything else will be impeccably organised by my soon-to-be wife (5 June is the date), Liana Falconer, the CEO and founder of All Ireland Chauffeur Tours, who excels in crafting top-notch experiences.

Inspiration and Innovation

My role will be to tailor and lead the program, enriched with pre-reading materials, interactions with intriguing local figures (the Costa del Sol is full of cool people), stimulating discussions, and mutual learning—all aimed at ensuring you return home energised, inspired, and equipped with new tools to enhance your business or career.

The Exclusive Eight

Are you interested in being one of the exclusive eight? I’m eager to assess interest and ensure we assemble the right mix(es) of participants before we finalise dates in early September. Sessions will be scheduled for Monday and Tuesday or Thursday and Friday, allowing you the option to extend your stay over the weekend and perhaps bring a partner.

Organisational design

While pondering the above, I finished reading two books on organisational design. One golden oldy (“Team of Teams“) and one new book (The Geek Way). Both books basically say the same. There is a need for a shared vision, shared principles, transparency, brutal honesty, culture and norms. Where trust is speed. I think that culture will be the only differentiator you have left when you start to combine organisation design with citizen development and technology abstraction.

Interesting questions

This month’s scenario prompts posed quite a few interesting questions:

Picture a lively conversation about these topics at a large table over delightful meals and fine beverages—I’m already looking forward to it. Drop me a line if you want to be part of this. Let’s create an unforgettable experience together.
