AI, digital transformation, training your change muscle and Neal Asher

In my last newsletter, I posted my three scenario prompts for 2024: AI, quantum computing and synthetic biology. See https://www.ronimmink.com/the-3-scenario-prompts-for-2024/

AI and digital transformation

To illustrate how AI, in particular, works, I invite you to watch a video by one of my clients, Jesse Shiah, the CEO of AgilePoint and a true visionary in the field of digital transformation. The talk covers the ability of very few companies to truly orchestrate the company, spaghetti code, spaghetti process models, technical debt and codeless meta abstraction.

AI needs context

AI is also something I am going to discuss at a company retreat in Rome at the end of this month (thank you, Grant). In my view, you cannot see AI in isolation from a lot of other (tech) trends. Combining that with exponential effects and playing LEGO with technologies that will become fully interchangeable. Change on steroids. That means you need to be situationally aware on an ongoing basis. Extremely aware. Speeding up your internal clock speed will become essential. Combined with the ability to anticipate and adapt.

Change muscle

Hence, there is a need for scenario prompts to train the change muscle. Similar to physical fitness, adaptability is nurtured through consistent practice. If you want to train your ability to adapt, you need to change the way you do strategy. I developed a straightforward 4-step programme that will help you do just that. Learn more about this transformative approach here.

Books

I am happy to report that I did not read any business books this month. I was too busy diving in Koh Tao, Thailand.
However, I did read lots of science fiction. Thinking trends into their extremes is one of the techniques in the 4-step programme. If you are looking for inspiration, I would strongly suggest picking up one of the books by Neil Asher. A fantastic perspective on where AI potentially could bring us.
